Have you ever had a food and just felt "off" after? Bloated, gassy, or just uncomfortable. Or you are eating all the right foods but nothing changes for you? About 5 months ago, we partnered with Everlywell to bring you at home Food Sensitivity & Hormone Testing (everlywell.com). Everlywell is an innovative company (much like us) and brings you modern lab testing at your fingertips. Every person is different, and even some healthy foods can be reactive to an individual. Sure, you can do an elimination diet (which we love) but isn't it just way better to see results on paper? Our Dietitians are more than equipped to help you implement results!

PROOF RIGHT HERE!

"When my husband started Paleo, we decided to do it together. I watched as he started to shed pounds and feel amazing as I became oddly distended and overly bloated in my stomach area. I actually gained weight and went from 105 to 115 lbs. at my 5'1'' frame. I was beginning to hate how I felt in my clothes but because we were eating so "clean" we assumed it was hormonal, cycle related as I got older and the fact I had that i had stopped exercising as much after my 2nd child. (currently 32 years old and this went on for 3 years).
In comes Everlywell at the recommendation of Simplex Health and I find I'm highly reactive to eggs, a powerhouse food we had been consuming regularly having adopted a Paleo diet.
Armed with a plan provided by a simplex Rd to help navigate around eggs, in less than 3 week I've lost the entire 10 lbs AND MORE IMPORTANTLY THE BLOATING AND DISTENSION that had been making me feel so puzzled and self conscious. I honestly never would have thought to look at eggs before. I'm so glad I did the test and highly recommend it now as a way to take the guessing out of what works for your body. I'm grateful Simplex is on the forefront of and even thought to recommend as I had no idea such a test existed!" --Lisa R. 32

We’ve all been there before. “I’ll get back on track tomorrow”, or “I’ll start my diet on Monday.” To overcome the negative effects of binging, lets talk a little bit about the physical and mental responses to overindulging. First, overindulging can mean we have an unhealthy relationship with food. This means not listening to hunger levels or satiation cues. If you are no longer eating for energy and nutrients, why are you eating? If you are strictly choosing foods for their taste, and not what they can do for you, then that could mean you’re relying on foods for the wrong reasons.

Most commercial juices like Naked and Bolthouse Farms and are marketed as healthy for us, but they are deceptively high in sugar. Slapping “No Sugar added” on the label makes us feel as though we are making a good decision. The problem with this is that companies can technically label their product with “no sugar added” even though sugar is present in their ingredients such as “concentrate”, “puree” or “syrup”.
Also, these juices are void of fiber, which is the part of the fruit that is extracted during the juicing process (the skin, pulp and seeds). Fiber helps to slow down digestion of sugar, so without it- can we say sugar rush!

If you are going to go on a juice or smoothie k...
